"So You Think You Can Dance": the auditions

Can I just say that I wish Idol had even half the dignity that Dance does in the tryouts? Granted, with both, we're only seeing the tiniest portion, highly edited. But where Idol seems to pander to the lowest denominator of the viewing audience, Dance seems to care about those trying out.

I watch this show because I enjoy dance, not to witness humiliation. So I appreciate the high road they've taken with these early episodes this season. Much better job than their previous seasons, even.

And when Shane offered that young man a spot in a movie, it was so touching!
